Telencephalon, Cerebrum

The cerebrum (telencephalon) consists of both hemispheres as well as the subcortical nuclei. Cortex, limbic system, basal ganglia and olfactory bulbs all belong to the telencephalon.

Cortical and subcortical brain regions (cognitive, limbic, olfactory and motor systems amongst others) are connected to lower regions by ascending and descending projections (thalamus, hypothalamus, brain stem...)

Speech, communication, memory, motion and olfaction are some of the telencephalon's functions.
